The Straits of Malacca

The Center for Development Research (ZEF) is an international and interdisciplinary research institute of the University of Bonn, Germany.

The Straits of Malacca are one of the world's most important shipping lanes connecting Europe, the Middle East and East und Southeast Asia. This volume throws new light on the Straits of Malacca region by highlighting its cultural and bio-diversity, knowledge-based development and economic hazards and opportunities. The editors Solvay Gerke is Professor of Development Research and ZEF Director. Hans- Dieter Evers is Professor emeritus of Development Planning and Development Policy and Senior Fellow at ZEF. Anna-Katharina Hornidge is a sociologist and Senior Researcher at ZEF
