Here And Beyond

As a multilingual, complex and dynamic space, the Iberian Peninsula has been the subject of many different narratives of travel and mobility for centuries. The wealth and variety of Iberian textual accounts and other forms of cultural production correspond to the plurality of traditions, geographies, values and identities that coexist in this open space of intercultural and transnational exchange. This volume examines several modern and contemporary travel texts and mobility narratives produced in the different languages of Iberia, whether they offer accounts of Iberia itself or portray other geographical and human contexts. The book aims to provide a critical account of a tradition that has produced canonical texts but also unorthodox narratives, particularly in more recent years.
