Klappentext
This volume is a special commemorative publication in honour of Professor Dr. Ulrike Halsband, from the University of Freiburg in Germany, on the occasion of her 60th birthday, and includes chapters specially written for the volume, with recent views, reviews and results on such fields as functional neuroanatomy, neuropsychology, education, animal behaviour, altered states of consciousness, hypnosis and the history of psychology in Germany. The contributors are internationally well-known scholars from academic and clinical institutions abroad and in Europe.

The editors are two international neuroscientists working in Germany:

David Emmans, from New York City, is a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist who has worked under Professor Dr. Hans Markowitsch at the University of Constance and has been at the Parkinson Clinic Wolfach in the Black Forest for over 25 years. He is a guest lecturer at the University of Freiburg.

PD Dr. med. Arto Laihinen, from Finland, has worked at the University of Turku. He is now medical director of a neurorehabilitation clinic in Stuttgart. He has published widely in the fields of neurology, Parkinson's disease, and brain imaging studies (fMRI an PET).
