Klappentext
Church polity as a theological discipline has become increasingly aware of the challenge of contextuality, due to secularization in the global North and a renewed awareness of inherited cultural and religious traditions in the global South. The ecumenical movement offers a particular framework for reflection on such developments.

This second conference volume presents thirteen case studies, from five continents, and covering church polity issues from perspectives like practical theology, civil law, and missiology. Another volume presents a number of ecclesiological and historical reflections.

Dr Leo J. Koffeman (1948) is Professor of Church Polity and Ecumenism at the Protestant Theological University (Amsterdam, the Netherlands).

Dr Johannes Smit (1975) is Professor of Church Polity at North-West University (Potchefstroom campus, South Africa).
