Shakespeare died in England. He did so without setting foot on Italian soil. However, his universe of Italian plays, characters and settings has fascinated scholars over centuries. Born in Kirn, Benedikt Höttemann studied English and French language and literature at the universities of Trier (Germany) and Lille (France). Upon completion of his studies in September 2008, he started his PhD. Currently, he is teaching English and French at a German high school.
