Globalizing Fiction. Transdisciplinary perspectives on arts & letters as objects of cultural practice

Our book series publishes research on fiction as a cultural practice that transgresses but also questions or creates cultural and political borders. We ask how literary texts or other esthetically encoded media interact with different sociohistorical contexts, how they adapt to them, and how they influence them. Fictional forms may be an instrument of cultural globalization, that is standardization of representational and interpretational structures. But globalization may as well be fiction itself: a master narrative creating always different representations of the world which are distinctively heterogeneous at the level of interpretation, all while being simultaneously adapted by infinitely different sociohistorical users.

We welcome volumes on any period in English, French and German, and especially encourage multilingual publications. If justified by the subject matter, other European languages will also be considered
