Klappentext
Multilingualism and multiculturalism are notoriously elusive concepts resting on partly controversial grounds. All too often diversity is de fined by "othering" certain groups, emphasising their different or "exotic" characteristics. However, the diversity and dynamics of Uralic (Finno-Ugric) literatures deserve to be explored from the point of view of the interaction of multiple cultural and linguistic systems, structures and networks. With this volume, we want to invite all interested readers and researchers to consider the potential of Uralic literary multiculturality in its entirety.

Prof. Johanna Domokos is affiliated with the Scandinavian Section and the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures at UCLA. She has published intensively on translation studies, literary linguistics and multiculturality.

Johanna Laakso is Professor of Finno-Ugric languages at the University of Vienna. Her research interests include historical linguistics, gender linguistics and various aspects of language contact.
